Longbow Makes It Real

Backers borrow USDG against collateral sitting in their own wallet. The stake travels straight to the prospector. The chain is the only middleman.

How a claim gets nailed, staked and split
01 · post-request

A prospector nails size, term and split to the board — no capital of their own, just an edge worth backing. The card sits out in the open, parchment and all, until someone decides to back their play.

02 · stake

A backer opens the request and borrows USDG straight from Longbow, against Stock Tokens already sitting in their own wallet — never ours. The stake moves wallet to wallet; we only watch it land and nail the terms down.

03 · trade

The clock starts the second the stake lands. Both sides watch the position run its term in the open — no lockup, no product custody, just the thesis playing out where anyone holding the link can see it.

04 · settle

When the term's up, the analyst stamps the split: PAID, WALKED or PARTIAL. The Book inks it permanently against both wallets — your edge is only as good as your last settlement, and everyone can read it.

How the borrow actually works

Why we never touch the money

GRUBSTAKE doesn't hold a cent, and it never has. When a backer stakes a claim, they open their own position on Longbow — a Morpho Blue market running live on Robinhood Chain — and borrow USDG against Stock Tokens already sitting in their wallet. That borrow draws on the backer's own collateral, not ours; the loan is theirs, up to whatever the market's loan-to-value cap allows that day.

The borrowed USDG goes straight to the prospector's wallet, chain to chain. We never route it, never hold it, never touch it. What we do is nail down the terms that matter: size, term, split, and the two wallets on either side of the claim, so the record exists before a dollar moves.

At term's end, the settlement is self-reported: the analyst stamps PAID, WALKED or PARTIAL, and that stamp goes into the Book permanently, against both wallets. There's no escrow forcing the split and no product guarantee behind it — the public record is the only enforcement there is, and it follows a wallet into every claim it stakes next.

That's the trade-off, plainly stated: no custody, no recourse, no invented numbers on this page — just a public ledger of who backed their play and who walked. Read it before you back anyone twice.

The book remembers who gets invited back

18 of 25 settlements across the Book came back PAID — 72% and every stamp is permanent. Walk once and it follows the wallet to the next request.

A wallet with a clean PAID record gets backed again, at bigger size, next time it posts.

Divide the claim, in the open

At term end the analyst stamps PAID, WALKED or PARTIAL — permanently, against both wallets. No product custody, no enforcement guarantee: the record is self-reported and public, that is the whole point. There is no escrow behind the stamp and no product recourse if someone walks — the public record, carried on the wallet, is the only consequence built into GRUBSTAKE.

Questions a backer actually asks

What is a grubstake?

A public ask: size, term and split, backed by one named backer's own capital. It's nailed to the board with the prospector's thesis attached, so anyone sizing it up can see exactly what they'd be backing.

What does Longbow do?

Longbow lets a backer borrow USDG against their own Stock Tokens on a live Morpho Blue market — the stake, funded without selling their position. The collateral never leaves the backer's wallet; only the borrow moves.

What if the analyst walks?

The Book stamps WALKED, permanently, against that wallet. There's no recourse and no product enforcement — the record is the whole consequence, and it travels with that wallet to every request after.

Is this custodial?

No. We never hold funds, ever. The borrow and the stake move wallet to wallet over Longbow; we only record the ask and the settlement stamp once both sides agree it happened.

Where does the settled money actually go?

Straight from the backer's wallet to the analyst's, over Longbow. We never see it move — we just watch the chain and write down what happened, same as anyone else could.

What's a Stock Token got to do with it?

It's the backer's collateral. Longbow lets them borrow USDG against Stock Tokens they already hold, so the stake never touches their underlying position — only the borrowed amount goes out.

Can a prospector fake their edge?

Nothing stops a bad thesis from getting staked once. But every settlement — good or bad — sticks to that wallet permanently, so the Book remembers who's worth backing twice and who isn't.

Why not just hold the funds yourselves?

Because then we'd be the counterparty, and this isn't a fund. Grubstaking is one wallet backing another's play directly over Longbow — we just nail the terms to the board and record what happened after.

Nail your edge to the board

One claim, one thesis, one name on the record. The Book only remembers what actually gets nailed up.
